Maximilian Busch
The intensive work phase from 2018 to 2019 as musical director in the project “Peter Pan” of the “Musical Company Lübeck” was the debut and the initial spark for Maximilan Busch's conducting work.
He was awarded a prize from the Marie-Luise-Imbusch Foundation for this project in 2019.
Parallel to his orchestral conducting studies in the class of Prof. Eiji Oue at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media further engagements followed, including for the Lübeck University of Music, the Lübeck Youth Symphony Orchestra and as assistant to Prof. Bernd Ruf.
Maximilian Busch has also worked as a choirmaster with various choirs in Lübeck and the surrounding area.

Pianist
Maximilian Busch received his first violin lessons from his father at the age of 6. A few years later, he started playing the piano.
After graduating from high school in 2013 with an aesthetic profile at the Johanneum in Lübeck, he began studying “Music Education” at the Lübeck University of Music.
There, as a classical pianist, he also studied jazz, rock and pop music intensively for the first time.
In 2018, he successfully took part in the "Bundeswettbewerb Schulpraktisches Klavierspiel” in Weimar.
Neben zahlreichen Konzerten als fester Klavierbegleiter für diverse Chöre, Sänger:innen und Instrumentalist:innen tritt er immer wieder als Klavierkabarettist in Erscheinung.
In addition to numerous concerts as a permanent piano accompanist for various choirs, singers and instrumentalists, he also appears time and again as a piano cabaret artist.

Conductor
As a sought-after orchestral musician (violin, viola, tuba) and piano accompanist, he found his way to conducting through his music studies. He is active in both classical and popular music.
During his school music studies, he took over the direction of the musical project “Peter Pan - A Musical Adventure”.
As an assistant to Prof. Bernd Ruf, Maximilian Busch gained experience in conducting various types of musical ensembles during his studies. In addition to conducting symphonic orchestras, he was also involved in conducting crossover projects, big bands and pop choirs.
This was followed by classical conducting studies in the class of Prof. Eiji Oue at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media.
At the University of Music Lübeck, he was engaged to rehearse and perform numerous contemporary compositions by students from the class of Prof. Dr. Katharina Rosenberger.
After having already taken over the direction of various choirs in Lübeck and the surrounding area on a substitute basis, Maximilian Busch worked intensively with the choir of the Waldorf School Lübeck from 2023 to 2024.
In January 2024, Maximilian Busch became the chief conductor of the Kreiskammerorchester Ostholstein,, with whom he regularly works on large symphonic works.
He has been employed as a conductor at the Pinneberg Music School since February 2024. In addition to working with the Cellalini (young string players of primary school age), he conducts the Pinneberg Music School's large youth symphony orchestra.
He works with the youth symphony orchestra on several programs a year, which consist of demanding repertoire works as well as self-arranged pieces of film and popular music.

Educator
From 2014 to 2020, he worked continuously as a student assistant to the music education professors at the Lübeck University of Music.
In the pedagogical project “KOMPASS”, he was not only employed as a mentor from 2017 to 2019, but also as an assistant to the project coordinator.
He regularly leads section rehearsals in various school orchestras and is active as a band coach.
In 2021, Maximilian Busch completed his studies at the Lübeck University of Music with a Master of Education - Music Teaching degree.
In November 2021, he was awarded the Marie-Luise-Imbusch Foundation Music Education Prize for his Master's thesis entitled “Comparison of university didactic emphases of practical piano playing and require-ments for music teachers”.
